Hec & Niss
We're excited to help anyone interested in a closer walk with Jesus to identify their spiritual gift, how to develop it in ministry, and to live a life with purpose.
We have been involved in ministry for as long as we've been together (over a decade!). From leading youth events in our local church to assisting with building youth ministries - such as PC Jovenes and Movimiento Joven Adventista - we have been involved with leading youth to Christ all throughout the Washington, DC area. We are also blessed to be one of the founding leaders of the most progressive youth driven church movement in the area - Arise SDA Church.
Note: For transparency sake, after dedicating 5 years, we are no longer board members of Arise SDA Church. We remain as active members and have a special love in our heart for Arise.
The Lord has blessed us with many ministry opportunities which have allowed us to develop a keen ability to use various out of the box skills to produce progressive and fresh ideas for ministry. We’d like to help YOU do the same with your God-given talents and gifts.
“God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.”
Hello! For as far back as I can remember my family and I were in God's house 4 out of 7 days a week. I observed my parents give their all as Bible teachers, Family Life Directors, Community Outreach Sub-Director, Children Baptismal class facilitator, Deacon, and helping with anything and everything in between. So it was no surprise that when I became of age, I was also expected (and I actually wanted) to serve the Lord as well. I've had the privilege to work for the Lord for over 20 years and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. It is literally in my DNA to work and not sit on the sidelines.
My passion is being Jesus' hands and feet in the community. I am driven by showing love to "the least of these" through service. Helping those that are weak, hungry, and voiceless. I love finding unique ways to serve my community and mobilize others to serve with me.
I've been a leader in my immediate community (in Maryland) for over a decade. From being part of the Montgomery County Committee Against Hate and Violence to organizing prayer walks for our community to reach out to those we don't commonly dare reach - my commitment to serving my neighbor is deep.
If this is your passion or dare to love like Jesus - let's serve together!
“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.”
What's up, fam!
Although I was born within a Christian home I departed from the faith very early in my life. I found myself in the depth of the street life and trapped by addictions. But because of the mighty power of prayer of my amazing mother, I was not able to resist the Holy Spirit - at age 21 I left the street life and addictions and committed my life to Christ.
My life journey coupled with a passion for progress and design has allowed me to experience ministry from a unique perspective.
My goal is to love like Jesus and to find unique ways to minister to young people. Over many years I have developed successful ministry brands and events by adopting progressive ideas and new methods to reach our generation. My passion is to grow excitement for Jesus in this generation, identify in them their unique spiritual gifts and find their purpose in life by applying them to serve.
Honestly, I am just along for the ride that the Holy Spirit has placed me on and I wish to bring you with me.
What is it?
As a couple, we have been involved in many different projects and knew God was planning something new and special for us. He loudly spoke to us both in mid-2017 to launch a new ministry in 2018. We thought, “what better idea than to just continue doing what we love for the Lord?”
During one of our ministry brainstorm sessions, one of us had suggested one Bible verse to be the center of our mission and the other one of us heard a completely different book of the Bible. When we looked up both verses they were complementary, and perfect for the mission we want to carry out for Christ. Look at God!
Both verses are in chapter 12, verse 6 (12:6);
1 Corinthians 12:6 “God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.”
Romans 12:6 “In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.”
And just like that [Project 126] was born at our dining room table.
